Tui Na massage often completes an acupuncture treatment although it may well be used independently for its relaxing or therapeutic effects. Considered as an external art and based on meridian theory, it does not have the same scope at the metabolic level as acupuncture or herbal medicine, which are referred to as internal arts. Tuina, however, is a very effective intervention for any condition as well as musculoskeletal pain.
